Walter Carlson is chair of the board of TDS. He is also TDS president and CEO. He joined the board in 1981, serving as non-executive chair from 2002-2025. He is also the executive chair of Array Digital Infrastructure, a publicly traded subsidiary of TDS, and served on the board of UScellular.
