Walter Carlson was appointed president and CEO effective Feb. 1, 2025. Carlson has served on the TDS board since 1981 and was the non-executive chair from 2002-2025. He continues to serve as TDS board chair. He is also the executive chairman of TDS’ publicly traded subsidiary, Array Digital Infrastructure [NYSE: AD].
Prior to his current role with TDS, Carlson was an attorney at Sidley Austin LLP for over 44 years, including 37 years as a partner. He served in various leadership roles at the firm, including as a member of its Executive Committee from 2002–2018 and as a head of its securities and shareholder litigation practice for many years. Walter Carlson was a nationally recognized securities litigator and led numerous high-performing teams that accomplished successful results for clients.
Carlson earned his bachelor's degree from Yale University and his Juris Doctor from Harvard University Law School.
